Today's topic : DON'T OVERLOOK ME!
Ask yourself, what is in your mind when you passed by some people who have physical disabilities or impairment? Your action will be ignore them? Or maybe some compassion feeling? We don't think that they're able to contribute to the society in a meaningful way, are we? Aren't we? Somehow these kind of minded have to be corrected, we're so wrong, right?
Nowadays, people who have physical disabilities aren't that weak that we thought or seen, they are strong enough to do what we are able to do. They have the ability to join Olympic contests, they have the ability to organize activity so on so far. "When there is a will, there is a way", what they need is just a chance.
Hence, the year 1 students from Advance Diploma in Mass communication (Public Relation) from Tunku Abdul Rahman College, Penang Branch Campus (TARC) is organizing an awareness campaign on discovering talents of the physical challenged entitled "Don't Overlook Me".

Venue : Penang, Straits Quay
Date : 20 July 2013
Time : 11am-3pm
It's an one day event, serving as a platform to unveil the talents of the physically challenged people through stage performances and also exhibition of their crafting skills. Besides that, there are several mini games for the public to participate with them as well for the purpose of personal involvement creates and enhance the understanding between both parties. Through this event, it helps to bring out a message that the talents and abilities of the physically challenged can benefit business financially and organizationally.
The event collaborated with a few welfare orgnizations to raise the awareness among the stakeholders. Parties included : Society of the Disabled Person Penang (SDPP), Joblink Centre: Society For The Aid To The Handicapped, Penang Dead Association, ST Nicholas Home, Eden Handicapped Service Centre, Penang Cheshire home, Penang Handicapped Welfare Association and SIMA Handicapped Centre.
